The Blues have endured a miserable run of form in recent weeks, winning just two of their last 10 games to plunge from the summit to fifth in the table.
Carlo Ancelotti's men now trail leaders Manchester United by six points and have played a game more than the men from Old Trafford.
But captain Terry believes that their two meetings with the Red Devils will remain pivotal in the end-of-season shake-up and feels that the nature of the league campaign this term means there will be more twists and turns.
And he has called on the Blues to regain the desire they displayed last season when Ancelotti guided the West London outfit to an historic double.

Hunger and fight

Terry told The Sun: "It has been a difficult few weeks but we have to put it behind us.
"We are the Double winners and the best team in the country. With the quality of football we know we are capable of, it is up to us to start winning games again.
"Let's go on a run of winning games and show our determination, hunger and fight to win this league again.
"We were all hurting after losing at Arsenal last week. We weren't ready to accept that and we don't want to experience it again.
"But the league is still really open at the moment. Teams above us are dropping points. And we still have to play Manchester United twice and have a game in hand on City, too."
