AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has reportedly refused to close the door on a move for Real Madrid star Kaka.

The Brazilian enjoyed his best years with the Rossoneri between 2003 and 2009, but was sold for a fee of around €70 million (£56m) to the Spanish giants. He endured a difficult first season in Madrid and is currently injured and expected to be out until the New Year.

"A return for Kaka to AC Milan? Never say never," Galliani reportedly said, according to Tuttosport on Wednesday.

Galliani played a crucial role in bringing in summer signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho and some reports have suggested Kaka could be on his way in and Ronaldinho on his way out of San Siro.

However, this would represent a u-turn from Galliani's statements last week, when he excluded a move for the Real Madrid playmaker. Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho had also stated that Kaka would be 'crucial' for the club once he returns from injury.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also thought to be interested in the 28-year-old.
